We are a group of people searching for a deeper meaning in life. We meet regularly to read and discuss texts concerned with the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff, which have their basis in philosophical and religious traditions of the East. The topics we explore range from the nature and foundations of human psychology to the structure and function of the universe.
Our exchanges about the content of this teaching, along with personal experiences and observations of our own internal and external behavior, serve as the basis of support for each individual's search for a more accurate view of his or herself, and the world in which we live. The titles we read and discuss include at the present time the following; Ekker, M (1968/84) Gurdjieff, the Man and His Work: An Introduction. Eureka Editions. Gurdjieff, G. I. (1991) Views from the Real World: Early Talks Moscow Essentuki Tiflis Berlin London Paris NY Chicago as Recollected by his pupils. Arkana Lannes, H (2002) Inside a Question. Paul H. Crompton Ouspensk, P. D. (2001) "In Search of the Miraculous: Fragments of an Unknown Teaching". Harvest Books The titles are also recommended for anyone interested to find out more about the teachings of G. I. Gurdjieff. |
